With strong Giro d’Italia vibes, the little-known cycle path through Denbies Wine Estate is stunning. It snakes up through the vines opposite Box Hill and delivers views of England’s largest vineyard from the summit.
Starting from The Ground Coffee Society in Putney, head to Epsom. From there, do a reverse ascent of Box Hill (meaning you can enjoy the switchbacks without busting a gut) and roll into the vineyard. After Denbies, take the rolling road to Effingham and make a pacey return via Downside.
